Port Louis’s new aquarium, the Odysseo, opened its doors this week to welcome their first school trip, 45 eager 6ème students from the LLB’s British International Section.
The trip complements students’ independent group projects on the conservation of marine biodiversity, a topic of personal significance to anybody growing up in Mauritius, and one that aligns with the LLB’s values as Mauritius’s leading ‘éco-lycée’.
Lunch and ball games in the Jardin des Salines gave us all a sense of a return to normality.
Ending on a high, students visited Port Louis’s Bulk Sugar Terminal, thereby developing their understanding of the key role that sugar has played in Mauritius’s economic development.
